I have been reading this aloud to the kids every night before bed.  Hailey might be a little young to understand a lot of it, but Evan is mesmerized by the tales of the pioneer life.  I love it.

He was 6 weeks old when 9/11 happened.   I will never forget what a scary time that was.  How do you take care of an infant in a world that has gone crazy?  Twelve years later he went with some of his scout troop after school to Grand Rapids to salute at the Gerald R. Ford museum.
